Conference Overview      
Leadership starts with the individual. This program focuses on personal growth and capitalizes on the wisdom, courage, and strength students need to be successful as individual leaders. Made for Excellence is a one-day experience open to ALL sophomore Texas FFA members and will be held in conjunction with the Building Excellence and Executing with Excellence conferences. Stay tuned for conference dates and locations to be released late Summer 2018. The same conference will be hosted in various locations across Texas on different dates.

Made for Excellence is open to ALL sophomore Texas FFA members.

When and Where: 
2017-2018 Locations and Dates:
Stephenville, Texas at Cowboy Church of Erath County on Wednesday, November 8, 2017
Kingsville, Texas at Texas A&M University - Kingsville on Saturday, November 11, 2017
Nacogdoches, Texas at Stephen F. Austin University on Saturday, January 13, 2018
Canyon, Texas at West Texas A&M University on Saturday, January 27, 2018

Check-in: 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.
Conference: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

2018-2019 Locations and Dates:
To be released late Summer 2018
 
What:
Students will be able to...
1. Define leadership and identify characteristics that make a strong leader.
2. Identify the significance of choices made everyday.
3. Identify their own strengths and implement strategies for utilizing teammates' strengths.
4. Identify their interests and find opportunities their interests and strengths create.
5. Understand the importance of continual growth and identify areas in their life to develop. 
6. Utilize goal setting techniques to capitalize on opportunities.
7. Develop a plan of action to execute an opportunity over the next year.
8. Discuss leadership and planning topics with others.

Materials Students Need to Bring:
None; materials and lunch are provided

How:
When registration opens, advisors can register students for the conference through the Texas FFA roster system.
