The Golden Horizon Chapter Recognition program is a state level award to provide a measurement tool for chapter officers and advisors and recognize chapters who succeed in involving a large number of members in the diverse array of activities available through the FFA.  This award recognizes a well-rounded local FFA chapter with an inclusive, progressive, aggressive program of activities that promotes maximum participation in order to deliver the leadership component of agricultural education.

Applications for the Golden Horizon Award will be submitted as Division I, Division II, Division III or
Division IV. Chapters in which there is only one full-time or part-time certified agricultural science
teacher recognized by the school district as an FFA advisor may apply for recognition in Division I.
School districts that recognize two to three full-time or part-time certified agricultural science teachers
serving as FFA advisors may apply for recognition in Division II. Chapters in which a school district
recognizes four or five full-time certified agricultural science teachers and said advisors may apply for
recognition in Division III. Chapters in which a school district recognizes six or more full-time certified
agricultural science teachers and said advisors may apply for recognition in Division IV.

Chapters are placed into Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, with the top 10% of chapters in each division receiving a Gold Ranking.  Gold rated chapters are recognized on stage during the Texas FFA Convention.
Reporting Period:  June 1 – May 31

Since no elimination is held at the area level, chapters are encouraged to make amendments to reflect achievement and participation that may occur in the month of May.  Area coordinators should verify all information claimed in the applications.

The deadline for submitting to the state office is May 19, 2027 at 5:00 pm.

Please check with your districts and areas for additional deadlines.
