In this three part competition, team members appraise components and parts of tractors and agricultural implements and make recommendations for services needed and not needed, complete a written exam and finally the team of three members, working as a group, will compete in locating and correcting five deliberately placed malfunctions in diesel fueled tractors and safely navigate the repaired tractor through a driving course within the 25 minute time limit.

The module below titled "Additional Supporting Documents" contains references from past contests and provide general information regarding Guidance, Exam and Components.

**2021 Contest Information**

This year's event will be hosted by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 7th and 8th. 

This year registration for the event has been completed for you through Judging Card.  You will need to complete payment as usual through your Judging Card account.  You will need to bring your own Ag Mech/FB MGMT scan sheet.  Those can be purchased from Judging Card. 

This year's tractors for the debugging are provided by John Deere and will be a 5065E, 4wd, open station and no loader.

All teams will need to be present on Sunday March 7th, and the Top 10 teams will be invited to participate in the debugging portion of the contest on Monday March 8th. 

While at the event you will need to follow the HLSR guidelines.

When you enter the building you will want to go to the front of the building (away from the loading dock on the back) and enter the glass doors at the end of the hallway.  You will see a check-in table and they will have a Covid screening procedure they do for each person. You will need to have filled out the screening form beforehand.  Once you are checked in and screened, you will be able to go upstairs to the contest rooms.  You will need to bring your own inspection tools for the component evaluation (calipers, micrometers, multi-meter).  We will be in the 300 rooms on the opposite end of the building from the exhibitor parking lot.

Daily Schedule

Sunday March 7th

      9:00 a.m. - All teams arrive and register for part 1 and 2 at the NRG center

      9:45 a.m. - Introductions and instructions for the components and Exams

      10:00 a.m. - Teams broken into groups and the component evaluation and exams will begin.

      1:30 p.m. - Lunch provided by the Ag Mech committee.

      3:00 p.m. - Top 10 teams announced and procedures for Monday discussed in detail.

Monday March 8th

      7:30 - 8:30 Teams arrive to unload tools @ NRG Main Arena

          8:30 - Students & teachers arrive at meeting room upstairs in NRG Center

      8:30 - Driving and safety meeting for participants

      11:45 - Lunch provided by Ag Mech Committee

      12:45 - Teams sequestered and part 3 materials distributed

      2:00 - Debugging will begin in NRG Main Arena

      2:30 - Part 3 finished

      3:00 - Results announced and awards handed out
