THIS IS A STATE QUALIFYING EVENT. THREE TEAMS FROM EACH AREA WILL ADVANCE TO THE STATE CONTEST (UNLESS WILDCARD RULE APPLIES).

1. FCAW-G (Dual Shield)
a. Possible electrode wire(s): E71T-1C or E71T-1M
b. Possible shield gases: 100% CO2 or 75% Argon/25% CO2 mix
c. Possible materials: Plate, C Channel, Angle, or Pipe – Steel
d. Possible machines: Lincoln Electric Power MIG 215 MPi
e. Possibly welding position(s): 3G, 3F, 1G, 1F, and/or 2F
2. Oxygen Acetylene Cutting
a. Harris torch, Model Number 43450-510-DLX HXT
b. Possible material: Plate, C Channel, Angle, or Pipe – Steel
c. Possible operations: Cutting, Piercing, Hand Beveling
3. Blue-Print Interpretation and Layout
a. Students bring their own measuring, marking, and layout tools
b. Problem will be real-world, and industry based
