What a Lonestar Means To Me
Wednesday, September 1, 2010 | Author: Chris Rodriguez, Klein Forest FFA, John L. Hawley, Caney Creek FFA & Nicole Sellers, Decatur FFA

Throughout our involvement in the FFA, the satisfaction of receiving the Lone Star Degree provides us with recognition and a fulfilling sense of achievement. Through the development of our status in FFA and the accomplishment of our duties, we have earned the right to receive the most distinguished merit Texas FFA may bestow on an active member.

Earning the FFA Lone Star Degree is a task not easily done. Years of sweat, hard work, and dedication finally pay off as we receive the certificate and have the honor of being presented an outstanding award by the Texas FFA State President Allison Grainger, while our chapters and friends cheer us on.

In the moments before, all the memories come rushing to the surface of our mind. We have grown both in knowledge and character because of the responsibilities we have undertaken as a result of actively participating in the FFA. The Lone Star Degree is so much more than just a gold chain and charm; it is the satisfaction of knowing everything has finally paid off.

Completing a plethora of tasks, from SAE’s to the annual LDE and CDE competitions, we have defined our role in FFA. After giving four years in the FFA our time draws to a close. We are proud to have given our time to this organization. It gives us the honor to be amongst some of the most dedicated and enduring FFA members actively involved today. To stand with them, and those that have come before us, is a profound experience that we are heartily grateful for.
