What You Need to Know About SAE Grants
Thursday, October 15, 2015 | Author: Texas FFA News

Agriculture education is rooted with the three circle model that serves as the foundation of curriculum and instruction and provides a capstone project through the Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). Even though these integral experiences are rewarding, they sometimes deter students due to financial constraints. This year 145 SAE grants are available to members who exhibit financial need and strive to achieve excellence with their project.

But how does an FFA member qualify for a SAE grant? Below you will find a short list of frequently asked questions that should assist with the application process.

Who can apply?
FFA members who wish to initiate or improve their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) can apply for an SAE grant. Sign-in to FFA.org to apply.

How are grant recipients selected?

Grant recipients will be selected by the SAE Grants committee. Grants are awarded based primarily on financial need. The advisor’s statement is crucially important in establishing the financial need and eligibility of the applicant.

What are the SAE Grant requirements?
Applicants must be in grades 7 - 11, be current FFA members and must demonstrate financial need.

When are the grant applications due?
Application period closes Nov. 16, 2015, at 5 p.m. EST

When will we know the grant results?
SAE Grant results will be posted in My FFA Journey/FFA.org by the end of December. Grant recipients will be
notified by email in December.

Where can I find the grant application?
The SAE Grant application is available on My FFA Journey/FFA.org through the degree/application manager. A step-by-step guide is located on the SAE Grant website.
