Texas FFA Members Give Back to City of Fort Worth Through Days of Service

This year at the 98th Texas FFA Convention, members had a wide range of opportunities to get involved and give back through the Days of Service projects. This year’s projects included Build-A-Bear, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Fort Worth Herd, Mission Arlington and Keep Fort Worth Beautiful.
These service opportunities gave members the chance to make a positive impact on the Fort Worth community while putting the FFA motto, “Living to Serve,” into action.
Returning for its second consecutive year, the Build-A-Bear project invited members to assemble stuffed bears that will be donated to charitable organizations. The project gave members a hands-on way to brighten a child’s day while creating lasting memories for everyone who participated.
Members volunteering with the Tarrant Area Food Bank helped sort, inspect and prepare food for distribution to families facing food insecurity. Through their efforts, members supported one of the region’s largest hunger relief organizations while learning more about the importance of fighting hunger in their communities.
At the Fort Worth Herd, volunteers assisted with projects that help preserve the history and daily operations of one of Fort Worth’s most notable traditions. Members had the opportunity to learn about the city’s rich western heritage while helping maintain an important piece of Texas history.
Those serving with Mission Arlington organized donations and prepared supplies that will be distributed to individuals and families throughout the Arlington area. The nonprofit provides assistance through food, clothing, household items, medical care and educational programs, making it a vital resource for thousands of Texans each year.
Members who volunteered with Keep Fort Worth Beautiful worked to improve local parks and public spaces through cleanup efforts. Their service helped create a cleaner environment while encouraging stewardship of Texas communities.
Whether they spent their time building bears, sorting food, preserving history, organizing donations or cleaning parks, members left this year’s convention knowing they had made a meaningful difference. The Days of Service projects continue to remind Texas FFA members that leadership extends beyond the classroom and that serving others remains at the heart of the organization.
