Every year at convention we hear them, those singers on stage who rock the house and get everyone pumped --the Texas FFA Chorus.
The chorus is a time honored tradition at state convention. Chanelle Davis, chorus member from Burleson, said if someone is interested in joining the chorus, don’t be nervous and go for it. She also mentioned there is not enough male singers in the chorus. There are 30 choir members this year and only two of them are male.
“There’s a lot of girls, not a whole lot of guys. Hint hint more guys need to join.” Davis said.
Davis also said that the chorus is really fun, and is a great experience to make new friends. Davis has been in the chorus for three years now, and she said that her favorite thing about being on stage is how the crowd concentrates on her and the chorus and supports them by singing along sometimes.
Joining the chorus is a simple process. Log onto the Texas FFA website, print off an application, fill it out and send in an audition tape. The tape will be reviewed and qualified applicants will be invited to join the chorus.
The chorus has a very demanding and nerve racking job but in the end they make the convention hall explode with energy and excitement.
