Trey Elizondo, current National FFA Western Region Vice President, has returned to Texas to teach a leadership workshop at the 89th Texas FFA Convention.

“It is exciting to come back to my home state convention because it is just like a big family reunion,” Elizondo said. “It is so fun to see members, teachers and friends I have known for years from FFA experiences gathered in one place celebrating such an organization.”

Elizondo did not serve as a state officer, but instead went straight to the national level. For him, the opportunity to teach at state convention is an exciting one.

“Getting to come back and do a workshop at convention in this capacity is so cool,” Elizondo said. “I have seen national officers come to convention for years and lead workshops and now it was my turn to do the same.”

Elizondo lead many activities in his workshop, “Masters of Self-Confidence.” His main goal was to help FFA members become self-confident by discovering how all members are unique and have different qualities.

“All of my workshop ideas were derived from lessons that I learned during my FFA career,” Elizondo said. “It was through my time in the blue and gold jacket I was able gain self-confidence, so through my workshop I hope I could teach other members to be confident in themselves as well.”
