How many years have you been a supporter and/or advocate for Texas FFA?
Texas Army National Guard has been a Texas FFA Corporate Sponsor for 5 years.
Tell us about your company and why a sponsorship with the Texas FFA is a “win-win” proposition.
The Texas Army National Guard feels that the Texas FFA shares our common core values; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. These values are vital to securing a stronger Texas in the future.
How would you describe our Texas FFA members?
Bright, motivated, respectful and hopeful. It’s not an overstatement to say we think the membership of the Texas FFA represents the absolute best of what makes Texas great.
How would you describe our Texas agricultural science teachers?
They have accepted an awesome responsibility that will have an impact on Texas, and the nation, for generations to come.
What three things would you tell Texas FFA members to prepare for a successful career?
1) Be brilliant in the basics. Be a master of the ground level tasks in your area of expertise.
2) Always be prepared to do your job at one level above your assignment and two levels below. You never know when you may have to step in and fill a gap in the line, or train someone else to.
3) General Dwight Eisenhower said "The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible." Never, ever compromise your integrity, or give people a reason to question it. When you leave this life, your reputation is all you take with you.
What do you feel sets Texas FFA apart from other youth development organizations?
Shared core values. The Texas FFA at its core is committed to a stronger, better Texas through community service, hard work and dedication. These are the same things that the Texas Army National Guard is committed to.
