For the 2025 Texas FFA Convention, chapters from across the state were challenged to promote a Texas commodity through an educational video and an interactive booth design. This initiative aims to strengthen agricultural literacy while fostering creativity and critical thinking among FFA members.
The 2025 Texas FFA Commodity Contest winner is Sam Rayburn FFA from Ivanhoe, whose focus is on beef cattle production. They highlight the vital role the beef industry plays in the state’s economy and agricultural legacy.
After participating in their first meat commodity competition, the Sam Rayburn FFA chapter felt inspired to shift public perception surrounding cattle and beef. They wanted to make a meaningful difference.
“There’s quite a bit going on in the world where people think beef is a bad thing,” said Sam Rayburn member Layton Avery. “So we wanted to raise awareness and show how beef cattle help us in everyday life.”
Attendees were encouraged to visit their interactive booth in the exhibit hall during the 2025 Texas FFA Convention. The student led display offers an engaging and educational look into beef cattle production and its impact on communities across Texas.
