Blue and gold jackets filled the arena during the first general session of the 90th Annual Texas FFA State Convention in Fort Worth, Texas.
Members from across the state gathered together to compete, receive recognition for their accomplishments and discuss official association business.

With over 13,000 members in attendance, the first general session on July 10 was opened by the state officer team. They inspired members by sharing their past convention experiences and introduced this year’s theme—It’s Time.
The first general session set the atmosphere for this week’s convention by building the foundation to push members to do more.

“Although I haven’t been to convention before, I can feel that the environment is good for socializing and meeting new people from across the state,” Heritage FFA member Adyson Barker said.
The session featured guest speakers Mayor Betsy Price, past state First Vice President Connor McKenzie and keynote speaker Liz Murray.

State President Cody McQueen along with the other officers and speakers urged members to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
“In front of you lies a life changing week,” McQueen said. “I encourage you to be present in each moment, seek growth, and get ready to put action behind your purpose. Texas FFA it’s time!”
