“The FFA is so good at creating a culture of leadership,” said Doug Scott, Ford Motor Company’s Truck Group marketing manager at the media event for the F-150 Atlas Concept during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Ford Motor Company executives, alongside five FFA members and media sources, spent Tuesday morning exploring Ford’s latest venture through the Atlas Concept Truck.

“The Atlas has an unstoppable appearance,” Scott said, describing the truck which is potentially set for production in the year of 2015.

For the past 10 years, the brands of the Texas FFA, Ford Motor Company and Texas Ford Dealers have been synonymous.  In 2002, the Texas FFA was honored with the first $1 million dollar agreement.  The relationship that has blossomed between Ford and the Texas FFA is truly unique. Ford believes in the future of agriculture and that the future lies within the Texas FFA.  Scott said, “I love any time that I spend around the members. It is fantastic, because they are such an inspiration.  They give me great confidence in knowing that our future will be in good hands.”

Success is of no shortcoming to the motor company.  Ford has been known for having the nation’s best-selling vehicle for the last 32 years. This honor came to the company as a result of years of great leadership, determination and dedication to quality products.

Scott encourages members to persevere. “Life is full of challenges. You have to be willing to fail and try again all while learning from your failures,” explained Scott.  “Young people have to realize the importance of leadership on all levels in any organization.  One has to really develop and hone those leadership skills while learning how to persevere and staying true to your dreams.”

While the Texas FFA promotes the future of agriculture and Ford Motor Company promotes an innovative automobile industry, both brands are working towards “better days, through better ways.”
