The Texas FFA Association embraces the idea of building stronger communities. The last line of the FFA motto, “Living to Serve,” signifies the vital role service plays in our organization. This year, our team has chosen “Raising Change” as our community service theme because we are striving to create positive change and impact lives in local communities.

The 2019-2020 Texas FFA Officers are coordinating a three-tier community service project which will take place at various times and events across the state.

State LDE Service Project: December 2019
Collect new or gently used books for local students ages K-12 in Huntsville, Texas, the host city of the State LDE Contest.

State Leadership Conference Service Project: June 2020
Collect children’s toys the newly built foster home, New Horizons, in San Angelo, Texas, the host city of the State Leadership Conference.

State Convention Service Project: July 2020
Hold a coin donation competition between our twelve areas. The funds collected will benefit the homeless population of the City of Dallas, the host city of 2020 Texas FFA State Convention. At the end of the convention week, we will tally the totals that each area donated and determine a winner.

Chapters and members are encouraged to bring donations to these events. If you are not traveling to a specific occasion but want to contribute, we encourage you to send your donations with a local chapter who will be making the trip.

Additional information regarding each service project will be posted here at a later date.

With these projects in mind, we hope each Texas FFA member will take extra steps to give back and serve. We encourage you to find new ways to impact your local community. We are over 130,000 individuals strong, imagine the impact we can make as you “Raise Change” in the lives of others!

As a team, we look forward to the growth we will experience alongside you this year. We are excited to work towards the achievement of these priorities and we hope you thoroughly enjoy your year as a Texas FFA member.

Keep an eye out for additional exciting and informative articles to come that will keep you and your chapter up to date with all things Texas FFA.
