NEW FOR 2024:

The 2024 State SDE Contest will be held in conjunction with the State Degree Check and Scholarship Interviews at Tarleton State University. 
Semi-Finals & Preliminary Awards Ceremony-Friday, June 7, 2024 
Finals & Awards Ceremony-Saturday, June 8, 2024


According the Updated SDE Handbook (HERE):
"Teachers must complete the online registration no later than 11:59 pm, May 15th. Materials must be uploaded.
Registration submission will not be complete unless all required materials have been uploaded. . . .
Late or incomplete registration/entries will incur a $50 late fee from May 16-June 1. at midnight. If all requirements are not met by the June 1st deadline, the student will be disqualified. If needed, alternates will be notified as soon as possible."

Overview      

Speaking Development Events are designed to develop the ability of all FFA members to express themselves on a given subject. Students are encouraged to develop their communication skills and learn to formulate their remarks for presentation in a variety of situations. The state finals of the speaking development events are held in conjunction with the Texas FFA Convention in July.

Speaking Development Event Registration will open along with convention registration through the Texas FFA Roster System. Students MUST qualify for this event and must attach all required documents before they may register. Registration will be open until 11:50 on  June 1 at a rate of $50 per speaker after that, late registration will be open until June 15th at 11:59 pm at a rate of $100 per speaker. Any student registered without the required documents will be charged late registration unless this is corrected prior to the June 1 deadline.  

Teachers must complete the online registration no later than 11:50 pm, June 1. Materials must be uploaded individually in PDF format onto the website at the time of registration. Registration submission will NOT be complete unless all required materials have been uploaded.
