The Golden Owl Award, sponsored by Texas Farm Bureau, recognizes agricultural educators for their tremendous contributions to helping the next generation of agricultural leaders. Students, parents, fellow teachers and other supporters can nominate their favorite agricultural teacher and summarize what makes him or her the best in the state.
Each area nominee that advances to the final selection will receive $300 and an engraved plaque. The winner of Texas FFA's Golden Owl Educator of the Year award will receive $1,400 and the coveted Golden Owl trophy!

Eligibility:
(1) Nominees must be Texas educators currently teaching agricultural education courses at the secondary (middle/high school) level with an active chapter that is in good standing with the Texas FFA Association.
(2) Nominations can be submitted by the general public, current or former students, parents, fellow educators, school administrators, and community members.
(3) ADVISORS MAY NOT SELF-NOMINATE.
(4) Advisors may only be recognized as the grand winner or as an honoree one time in a four year period.
Award Winner Determination:
(1) The committee will review nominations and forms submitted and utilize a rubric to determine the overall winner. The committee will deliberate and make their final selection for the Texas Agricultural Golden Owl Advisor of the Year.
(2) During one general session of the Texas FFA State Convention, the new Texas Agricultural Golden Owl Advisor of the Year will be announced.
(3) If Texas FFA is unable to contact the winner after a reasonable effort, the award will be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be selected.
(4) Honorees must be present at the Texas FFA State Convention to be recognized on stage and receive their award.
