Caldwell FFA to Represent Texas at National Hall of States Exhibit

The 95th Annual National FFA Convention & Expo will bring FFA members from across the nation to Indianapolis, Indiana, in October to celebrate achievement, scholarship and agriculture.

At the event, an exhibit showcase known as the Hall of States provides members the opportunity to learn about various agricultural industries by providing interactive booths created by FFA chapters across the nation. This year, Caldwell FFA was selected to represent Texas FFA.

With over 50 hours dedicated to creating the booth, chapter members and advisors were grateful for the opportunity to share Texas agriculture with FFA members.

“It was a learning process for us working together as a team as well as doing the research and learning new avenues about Texas,” Caldwell FFA advisor Lisa Pieper said. “I think it is a great honor, and we are excited to represent the state at nationals.”

Each chapter member hopes to share their perspective of Texas agriculture with the people who visit their booth.

Caldwell FFA’s Cooper Odenbach and Kelly Urbanovsky hope members walk away with increased knowledge regarding the importance of everything from the cattle industry to the state’s economy to the production process for cattle and other commodities from start to finish.

“I think the most important part is where it all starts because a lot of people have no idea that agriculture has any part in important everyday items,” Urbanovsky said.

This opportunity brings Caldwell FFA back to the national convention after a 20-year hiatus, and members are excited to experience the FFA in a whole new environment.

“I am most excited about meeting new people and seeing new things,” member Caitlyn Faust said.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us, and it is going to teach us a lot,” member Kelly Urbanovsky said.

In the next three months, before the national convention, Caldwell FFA plans on modifying their booth with some creative additions so they can represent Texas to the best of their ability.
